Dnd helm of brilliance flametongue11/28/2023 ![]() ![]() Wondrous items with charges can never be intelligent. ![]() Intelligent items have extra abilities and sometimes extraordinary powers and special purposes. An 01 result indicates the wondrous item is intelligent, 02-31 indicates that something (a design, inscription, or the like) provides a clue to its function, and 32-100 indicates no special qualities. Usually use-activated or command word, but details vary from item to item. Anyone can use a wondrous item (unless specified otherwise in the description). But along the same lines, if they aren't flexible enough to adjust an encounter to even challenge a coffeelock then they aren't much of a DM anyways. This is a catch-all category for anything that doesn’t fall into the other groups. Sure, and if they don't care about RAW and RAI being perfectly legal to play a coffeelock and don't want me to play a coffeelock I probably won't, all they have to do is ask. The worst type of control freak I would never want to play with. A DM that bases all of their decisions based on whether he thinks it will "enhance" the game's fun and doesn't consider their players at all, truely is the worst type of power hungry, god complex, DM there is. But your view on player DM relationship is atrocious, DnD is a collaborative game, if the DM is literally making all the decisions for the player then what is the point of playing at all when the player has no agency. Also, yes I said he can't stop me, and then immediately backtracked by saying that yeah, of course the DM could stop me if they wanted to, it's perfectly within their right to do so as a DM. That's where you are wrong, I have all the same resources or access to them that the DM has, minus the campaign book.
